Taipei Textile and Machinery Exhibition TITAS is the only professional textile exhibition in Taiwan that provides innovative textiles that meet the needs of global buyers. Taiwan's textile industry is mainly composed of three industries: man-made fiber manufacturing, textile manufacturing, and garment manufacturing. At present, Taiwan's textile industry is the main force above the middle reaches.

Bringing a trade surplus of US$6.4 billion to Taiwan, a 4.6% decrease from 2017, is still the fourth largest trade surplus industry in Taiwan.

The textile industry in Taiwan pays attention to environmentally friendly recycling technology. In recent years, it has continuously invested in innovative research and development of functional textiles, making Taiwan a major town for functional fabrics in the world. Function-related companies have become important partners in the supply chain of well-known brands such as Adidas, Nike, Under Armour, Uniqlo and Victoria's Secret. In the past few years, in the World Cup football games, Olympics, Asian Games and other major international events, many athletes wore environmentally friendly jerseys, often made of functional fabrics supplied by Taiwanese companies, to get rid of the 'sunset industry' and success for the Taiwan textile industry The transformation is the best witness.

As the functional textile market matures, Taiwan's textile industry has begun to plan the next stage of industrial development. At present, 'wisdom clothing' is a development goal that Taiwan's industry-government academia has locked in.
